Safeguarding

Safeguarding children is the most crucial part of any schools role. Safeguarding is  everyones repsonsibility and we ensure we promote profesional curiousity in our school.

 

At Acorns we ensure staff receive regular and relevant training thoughout the year in the form of ::face to face training, reading and understanding "Keeping Children Safe in Education" (KCSIE) updates, 7 minute briefings, quizes, online training and updates in new policies.  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/keeping-children-safe-in-education--2

Our governor with responsibility for safeguarding is Mandy Howarth (Chair of Governors) 

 

We are duty bound to report to report any suspected or obvious cases of abuse in any catergory to Childrens Social Care: Physical, Sexual, Emotional and Neglect.

 

We are also an Operation Encompass School linking closely with Lancashire Police to enable us to support any pupils who live with or witness Domestic Abuse. https://www.operationencompass.org/
