The Government introduced a New Primary Curriculum to be implemented from September 2014.

We have developed this curriculum to provide the core knowledge around which our teachers develop exciting and stimulating lessons. Our curriculum aims to encourage all pupils to understand, show respect to others, create a sense of curiosity and develop their own self esteem.

Engagement, motivation and thinking skills are at the heart of what we do and children are provided with opportunities to be active in their learning. We feel our curriculum extends our pupils by developing necessary skills for their future in our community.

It is a broad and balanced curriculum that provides opportunities for our children to engage and develop the necessary skills for their future. At Acorns we have in place individualised programmes which reflect EHC Plans (Education, Health and Care) and Individual Education Plans. (IEP’S). We provide a sensory curriculum for those among us who learn through sensory stimuli.

We encourage you to look at our photograph gallery which reflects our curriculum at work.
